Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our team at The Anchor Day Nursery and Pre-school . The ideal candidate will possess a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for young children. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills whilst working closely with children to support their developmental needs. Applicants must hold relevant childcare qualifications and demonstrate excellent communication skills in English. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transport requirements.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development within the Baby and Preschool Rooms
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and emotional security of all children in your care at all times
- Maintain accurate records of children’s progress, behaviour, and daily routines
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
- Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance and leadership to ensure high standards of childcare are maintained
- Organise daily routines including meal times, naps, and play sessions in accordance with nursery policies
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the nursery’s curriculum by suggesting new ideas and activities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and early years legislation
Experience
- Proven experience working within a nursery or early childhood education setting, particularly with babies and preschool-aged children
- Demonstrable management or leadership experience in a childcare environment
- Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education practices
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Experience working with diverse groups of children from different backgrounds is preferred
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transportation purposes
