Main Purpose of Post
Based in Glenrothes, the successful candidate will support the production team to ensure machinery and equipment is maintained in a safe, reliable and efficient condition. The role will involve both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities, including planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and reactive breakdown support. As part of the group maintenance team, you will be required to travel to other Proclad sites within the Glenrothes area. The role may be offered as either a dayshift position or as part of a rotational shift pattern, depending on business requirements and the successful candidate’s skills and experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to maintenance requests raised through the Pirana system in a timely manner.
- Diagnose and repair both electrical and mechanical faults on production machinery and equipment.
- Complete maintenance tasks accurately and close work orders within the maintenance system.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)activities to schedule, ensuring equipment reliability and minimising production downtime.
- Carry out fault finding on electrical systems, mechanical components, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Install and assist with commissioning of new machinery and equipment as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, processes and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to company policies, procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
- Support other maintenance activities and engineering tasks when required.
- Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role as required by the business.
Education and Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role.
- Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills with experience maintaining manual and CNC machine tools, automated welding equipment and industrial plant.
- Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for maintenance planning, work orders and record keeping.
- Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities and responding effectively to reactive maintenance requirements.
- Ability to read electrical drawings /schematics.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft packages.
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices.
- Flexible approach to working hours, with the ability to support dayshift or rotational shift patterns in line with business requirements.
- Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently.
- Team player with the ability to support other engineering disciplines when required.
Desirable
- Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent experience).
- 18th Edition qualification.
- Experience with the Shire Pirana CMMS system.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Experience with periodic inspection and testing.
- Experience working on induction equipment.
