Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, supporting the culinary team to deliver exceptional service. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant operations. Prior experience in a similar setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The role is suitable for those with a passion for hospitality and a keen eye for detail.
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently and thoroughly
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Ensuring the cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to uphold health and safety standards
- Supporting the culinary team with organisation and stock rotation
- Assisting in waste disposal and recycling processes
- Maintaining a tidy and organised kitchen environment throughout shifts
- Supporting serving staff during busy periods as required
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of restaurant or hotel operations is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary and hospitality services
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions effectively
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary
