Maintenance Operative – part time, September start
24 hours per week; 0730 – 1600 (days to be agreed) / 20 days paid holiday including bank holidays / pension scheme
Hourly rate circa £12.97, dependent on experience & qualifications
Maple View School opened in 2020 and is an aspirational specialist school in the SENAD Group portfolio for children with moderate to severe learning difficulties, aged 6 to 16 years. The school offers fully individualised and inclusive education for day and residential students. Located close to Derby City Centre the school is easily accessible from surrounding areas.
This role offers a great opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated maintenance professional to work within an expanding modern facility that is packed with potential and will allow the right person to use their skills and initiative.
Under the guidance and direction of the Maintenance Lead, you will:
Upkeep the gardens and grounds.
Carryout maintenance, refurbishment and repairs as required, and ensure the upkeep of the Home and/or School is kept to a high standard
To have the ability to carry out all round building works and repairs to a high standard and in a timely manner, as and when required.
Consideration will be given to those who have a general skill and a willingness to learn, and are able to adapt to changing needs
You will be expected to manage your working day effectively to maintain the site/s to a high standard
Carry out decoration of the home and school environment, and have basic plumbing/electrical and joinery skills
To have a current driving license and to carryout regular associated vehicle checks
To contribute to an on-call rota.
