The Role
As the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and development of our home care service, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care while maintaining compliance with Care Inspectorate standards and all relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and support the care team to deliver outstanding person-centred care.
- Ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate standards, company policies, and relevant legislation.
- Oversee recruitment, induction, training, supervision, and performance management of staff.
- Promote a positive culture that encourages teamwork, professional development, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor the quality of care through audits, spot checks, observations, and service user feedback.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with service users, families, local authorities, NHS professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee care packages, staffing levels, and service delivery to ensure high-quality care is consistently provided.
- Manage resources effectively to support the efficient operation and continued growth of the service.
- Investigate complaints, incidents, and safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
- Drive continuous improvement and support the ongoing development of Willstac Home Care.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a Service Manager, Registered Manager, or Deputy Manager role within domiciliary or community care.
- Strong knowledge of Care Inspectorate standards and Scottish social care legislation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Experience leading, developing, and motivating care teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable
- SVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care (Leadership and Management) or an equivalent qualification.
- Management qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Experience working with local authority and NHS contracts.
