Silks Luxury Lifestyle is recruiting an exceptional Laundress and Wardrobe and Couture Manager for a fully staffed Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) private household in Central London. This is a rare opportunity for a candidate with genuine UHNW-level experience and an outstanding record caring for couture, designer clothing and fine fabrics at the highest possible standard.
The successful candidate will bring meticulous precision, complete discretion and the flexibility expected within a private principal household, working closely with the wider household team to ensure every garment, wardrobe and linen item is maintained impeccably.
Garment & Fabric Care
- Deliver exceptional laundry, hand washing, ironing and pressing to luxury household standards, including couture, bespoke tailoring, cashmere, silk and delicate fabrics
- Wash and care for clothing according to fabric type, colour and manufacturer instructions
- Spot clean delicate garments and carry out minor repairs, alterations and mending
- Steam, press and finish clothing to an immaculate standard
- Monitor garment condition and identify items requiring professional cleaning or restoration
Wardrobe Management
- Organise and manage family wardrobes to impeccable standards, including seasonal rotation
- Care for luxury lingerie and specialist garments
- Maintain luxury footwear, including cleaning, polishing, conditioning and arranging specialist repairs
- Prepare shopping lists for laundry, fabric care and shoe care supplies
Travel & Household Coordination
- Pack and unpack clothing for UK and international travel, ensuring garments arrive perfectly presented
- Fold, store and present clothing, bedding and household linens beautifully
- Care for luxury bed linen, towels and household textiles
- Maintain an immaculate, fully serviced laundry room
- Create systems where required
- Uphold the highest standards of hygiene throughout all laundry processes
- Be aware of environmental properties within products used.
- Significant, vast experience as a Specialist Laundress within a UHNW private household, with proven, checkable references
- Exceptional knowledge of luxury fabrics, couture and designer clothing
- Outstanding ironing, pressing and steaming skills
- Confidence with hand washing, stain removal, spot cleaning and delicate fabric care
- Experience carrying out minor garment repairs and alterations
- Excellent wardrobe management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads
- Complete discretion, professionalism and trustworthiness
- A flexible attitude to working hours when required
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fully staffed household
