Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant / Pub Chef to join our team. This role involves preparing and cooking food in a lively pub environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with meal preparation, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, and supporting the overall operation of the kitchen area. Previous experience in a restaurant or catering setting is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. Responsibilities
- Assisting with food preparation and cooking dishes according to specified recipes and standards
- Ensuring all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed
- Supporting the serving staff with timely delivery of meals to customers
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing up and sanitising surfaces
- Preparing ingredients and assisting with stock rotation to minimise waste
- Monitoring food quality during preparation and presentation
- Assisting in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen at the start and end of shifts
- Contributing to a positive team environment by working collaboratively with colleagues
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen, restaurant, or catering environment is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly
- Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience in serving customers or working in a pub or restaurant setting is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- A genuine interest in culinary arts and customer service excellence

Pay: £12.78-£18.14 per hour
