About The New Foscote Hospital:
The New Foscote Hospital was established in Banbury over 40 years ago and has provided services and treatments to thousands of people from across the region. We have over 70 consultants, all of whom are leaders in their specialist fields and choose to hold their private practices here, working alongside our friendly, highly qualified, and experienced nursing and support teams.
The clinical outcomes of the hospital are of the highest standards and the latest CQC report rated our hospital standards as good across all parameters. Our organisation has strong IT, operational, clinical governance and accountancy support.
We have recently investigated the need for a new position to support the Procurement Team in the day-to-day ordering and processing of the hospital’s consumables and pharmacy stock.
All staff are required to work with agility and may have the opportunity to develop, progress and support across other sites within the Akessa Healthcare Group.
Role Purpose:
The Graduate Trainee Procurement Officer will provide logistical and administrative support to the Procurement Manager. They will be responsible for the execution of transactions related to purchasing and acquisition of goods, commodities, equipment, contracts, and services as needed or required to sustain and safeguard the Hospital’s resources.
Core Responsibilities:
- To assist the Procurement Team in sourcing materials for the hospital at the best price, quality and terms
- To take ownership of stock levels within the hospital with weekly ad-hoc checking of stock
- To ensure consistent supply of goods to provide ongoing efficient and effective running of the hospital
- To guarantee that all departments order goods in line with the hospital policies
- To support the Procurement Team in the management of the pharmacy stock
- Champion the adherence to internal formal procedures in line with ISO 9001:2015 regulations.
What you will be doing:
- To check deliveries to ensure that the goods are as per the order and that they are not damaged
- To distribute deliveries to appropriate area in line with the stock movement process.
- To identify slow moving stock, short-dated stock and expired stock and dispose in line with the stock movement process
- To process orders/transactions through the Compucare system in line with the stock movement process
- To assist the Finance team to resolve invoice/order queries
- To monitor progress of orders and to chase back orders
- To maintain accurate records and filing systems, in order that queries can be dealt with quickly and efficiently
- To be pro-active in completing stock-takes
- To respect patient, Consultant and supplier confidentiality at all times
- To comply with obligations in respect of the Health and Safety at work legislation
- To assist and support the Procurement Manager with any additional departmental work or ad-hoc duties, as required
- Actively participate in quality assurance programmes
- Be accountable for own standards of work
- Adhere to the hospital policies, procedures and standards
- Deputise for the Procurement Manager during times of leave

- Minimum requirement of Bachelor’s degree of 2:2 minimum or equivalent
