Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Part Time School Cleaner to join our team during term time. This role involves maintaining a clean and hygienic environment across school premises, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff. The position offers a flexible schedule of 11 hours over four days per week, ideal for individuals seeking part-time work within an educational setting. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Perform general cleaning duties across all areas of the school, including classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal spaces
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust surfaces to maintain cleanliness standards
- Disinfect high-touch areas to promote hygiene and safety
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
- Restock supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels as needed
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the designated personnel
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Reliable with a good work ethic and punctuality
- Ability to undertake physical tasks including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
- Flexibility to work during school term times on a four-day schedule (Monday to Thursday) for approximately 11 hours in total per week
- A positive attitude towards maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
Pay: From £13.24 per hour
