Sykes Timber is a sixth-generation family timber merchant established in 1862. We stock over 80 species of timber and supply customers throughout the UK from our expanding site in Warwickshire.
We are looking for a Timber Machinist to join our machining department.
Responsibilities
- Operating a range of woodworking machinery including moulders, planers, resaws and cross-cut saws.
- Producing timber to customer specifications from cutting lists and drawings.
- Setting up and adjusting machinery to achieve accurate finished sizes.
- Maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
- Working safely and efficiently within the workshop.
- Assisting with general workshop and yard duties where required.
- Carrying out routine machine maintenance and housekeeping.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating timber machining equipment.
- Ability to read and work from cutting lists.
- Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team.
- Forklift licence beneficial but not essential.
