We are looking for a hands-on Kitchen Manager who can help develop our kitchen operation while maintaining the warm, approachable atmosphere our regulars know and love.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys leading from the front, cooking during service, building standards, and helping shape a growing food business within a busy local pub environment.
The Role
As Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality, cleanliness, compliance, and team performance. This is a fully hands-on role, and you will be expected to work on the line during service, support prep, and lead by example during busy trading periods.
You will work closely with the General Manager to continue developing the food side of the business while maintaining excellent consistency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations
Lead and manage all day-to-day kitchen operations
Cook and lead service during busy periods
Ensure food is prepared and presented to company standards
Maintain consistency, quality, and speed of service
Support menu development and seasonal specials
Ensure smooth prep and service across all trading periods
Team Management
Recruit, train, motivate, and develop kitchen team members
Create staff rotas in line with business needs
Maintain positive communication between kitchen and front of house teams
Lead by example with professionalism, reliability, and work ethic
Support a positive and respectful team culture
Stock & Financial Control
Manage ordering, deliveries, and supplier relationships
Control stock levels and minimise wastage
Monitor GP margins and support profitability targets
Ensure accurate stock rotation and storage procedures
Maintain labour costs in line with budgets
Compliance & Standards
Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety regulations
Maintain excellent kitchen cleanliness and organisation standards
Complete all required HACCP and due diligence documentation
Ensure equipment is maintained and reported when necessary
Uphold all licensing and company policies
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or Senior Sous Chef in a pub, casual dining, or hospitality environment
Strong leadership and organisational skills
A hands-on approach with the ability to run busy services confidently
Good understanding of stock control, GP management, and labour management
Knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance standards
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Passion for delivering quality pub food and excellent customer experiences
Flexible approach to evenings, weekends, and busy trading periods

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
