We are looking for a warm, polished and confident Hotel Receptionist to join our friendly team at The Feathers. From the first telephone enquiry to a guest’s final farewell, you will shape their experience, create memorable moments and ensure they feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.
This is much more than a traditional reception role. You will be a host, storyteller, problem-solver and ambassador for The Feathers and Woodstock.

The Feathers is a beautifully restored luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Woodstock, just moments from Blenheim Palace.
Following a multi-million-pound refurbishment, our 17 individually designed bedrooms, 6 luxurious suites, and elegant bar and restaurant spaces combine historic character with contemporary style. The hotel is also home to The Nest, our two AA Rosette restaurant.

THE ROLE
As our Hotel Receptionist / Host, you will be the welcoming face and voice of the hotel. You will set the tone for each stay, offering attentive and personalised service from arrival through to departure.
You will take pride in recognising returning guests, remembering their preferences and anticipating what might make their stay extra special. You will confidently share the history and heritage of The Feathers, recommend local experiences and help every guest make the most of their time in Woodstock.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering a warm, professional welcome and creating an exceptional first impression
- Carefully preparing guest arrivals and checking room allocations
- Managing check-ins and check-outs accurately and efficiently
- Anticipating guest needs and creating memorable moments through personalised service
- Recognising returning guests and remembering their preferences
- Answering telephone enquiries promptly and professionally
- Managing bookings, amendments and cancellations using Guestline Rezlynx
- Maintaining accurate guest records and communications
- Promoting bedroom upgrades, dining reservations and other experiences that enhance each stay
- Assisting with group bookings and event enquiries
- Responding to guest requests and resolving concerns calmly and confidently
- Sharing your knowledge of The Feathers, Woodstock and the surrounding area
- Liaising closely with housekeeping, food and beverage, events and the wider hotel team
- Maintaining a calm, organised and beautifully presented reception environment, even during busy periods
- Protecting guest confidentiality and maintaining the highest standards of discretion

You will be a natural host who enjoys meeting people and understands how the smallest details can transform a good stay into a memorable one.

- Flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Smartly presented and proud to represent a luxury hotel
Previous experience in hospitality, hotel reception or customer service is desirable. Experience using Guestline Rezlynx would be an advantage, but full training can be provided for the right person.
WHAT WE OFFER
- A salary of £28,000 per annum
- Approximately £2,500–£3,000 in tips annually
- A full-time, 40-hour contract worked over 5 days
- Meals while on duty
