Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mentor/teacher who can work with children ages 4+. All classes operate on a 1:1 basis and will teach the pre-school up to KS3 primary maths school curriculum, as well as grading exams for the drums.
All required learning material for maths and music will be taught in training if required. The key need is to have a fun personality and be someone who isn't afraid to be silly and create a fun and engaging lesson plan!
All training on teaching styles, equipment, safeguarding, communications, reporting and lesson plans are taught and provided by Multiply Music. The Mentors/teachers role will be to bring those plans to life and have fun!
Our classes are either 30 minutes or hourly, and classes will run one after another (i.e., back to back). They'll also be times of paid musical training for employee's musical grading exams to gain experience and qualifications in the role. Additionally, you'll gain access to other qualifications that you can obtain that will be useful on your CV's if wishing to continue in role of education.
Teachers with pre-existing musical drumming exam grades will be paid a higher hourly rate.
Responsibilities
- Teaching 1:1 class sessions (either 30 minutes or hourly classes)
- Marking progression after topics have been learnt (using our Multiply Music student portal)
- Speak with families at the end of classes explaining areas that have been taught
- Preparing for personal musical exams to gain qualifications / improve understanding (Grade 3+ on the drums)
- Understand and follow Multiply Music Safeguarding policies and protocols
Experience & Requirements
- Must be 17+ of age and able to drive between locations (Princes Risborough and High Wycombe)
- All work to be completed on site in person so needs to travel to work
- Prior experience working with children helps greatly with training
- Be able to pass an Enhanced DBS check
- Be willing to learn on the job and adapt to changing lesson plans as children are individual and may require different styles implemented now and then
- Be able to control a classroom and adapt to children's behaviour (training on this will be given)

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
