Team Leader – Recycling Plant
Location: Birmingham - B8 area
Pay Rate: £14.49 per hour
Shifts: Monday – Friday (Rotating)
- 06:00am – 14:00pm
- 22:00pm – 06:00am
Overtime Available:
- Saturday AM
- Sunday AM & Night shifts
- Overtime paid after 30 hours (Sunday only) at £21.74 per hour
About the Role
We are currently recruiting Team Leader to join a busy recycling facility in Birmingham.
This is a hands-on supervisory role where you will lead a team of operatives, ensuring daily production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in line with site standards.
You will play a key role in maintaining high levels of health & safety, supporting staff development, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support a team of operatives on shift
- Lead daily briefings, breaks, and performance management
- Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free working environment
- Support achievement of production and KPI targets
- Organise staff and machinery to maximise site efficiency
- Maintain accurate daily operational records and reports
- Support inductions and on-the-job training for new staff
- Carry out basic plant checks and liaise with maintenance teams
- Report performance updates to supervisors and management
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Team Leader or supervisory role
- Experience in waste, recycling, manufacturing, or production environments preferred
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures
- Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Reliable, proactive, and hands-on approach
