The Role
The Administrative Assistant will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the practice, providing administrative assistance to the Practice Manager and Client Managers while ensuring clients receive a professional and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and submitting statutory filings, particularly Companies House Confirmation Statements.
- Drafting letters, professional correspondence and other accounting-related documentation.
- Helping to manage credit control processes, including monitoring outstanding balances and liaising with clients regarding overdue payments.
- Providing reception and telephone cover during periods of annual leave and absence.
- Supporting the Practice Manager with general administrative duties and office management tasks.
- Assisting Client Managers with ad hoc administrative and client-related work.
- Helping to maintain and update client records and internal databases.
- Helping to manage electronic filing and document management systems.
- Undertaking additional administrative duties as required to support the wider team.
Person Specification
Essential
- Previous experience in an administrative role.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive, proactive and flexible approach to work.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice or other professional services environment.
- Knowledge of Companies House processes and statutory filings.
- Experience drafting professional client correspondence and documentation.
- Experience of credit control and client account administration.
