The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across all areas of practice, acting consistently as an advocate for patients. The post holder will possess experience in cardiac and thoracic procedures, with desirable exposure to robotic surgery.
Working within the theatre environment, the practitioner will undertake a broad range of clinical duties under the guidance of senior staff. The role requires flexibility, with responsibilities spanning both anaesthetic and scrub functions, enabling the practitioner to work effectively in dual capacities.
The practitioner will maintain professional accountability for their conduct in line with NMC/HCPC Codes of Conduct and will demonstrate a thorough understanding of, and adherence to, all Trust and local policies and procedures.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Assess, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the peri-operative care of patients using specialist knowledge and skills.
Acknowledge personal preferences, rights and choice of patients undergoing surgery.
Maintain health, safety and the control of infection in clinical work areas in line with Trust policies and procedures.
Store, prepare and administer prescribed drugs to patients, and monitor the effects of drugs on patients in line with Trust policies.
Prepare, monitor and maintain materials and equipment for clinical procedures, take action if found to be faulty.
Support, monitor and care for patients during clinical procedures.
Contribute to treating patients during clinical emergencies.
Receive, transfer and position patients for clinical procedures.
Maintain accurate & legible records of care.
