The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Waking Night Carer to join our team for x2 waking night shifts per week, these being Monday and Thursday night each week, 20.00 - 08.00.
During these hours, you will be the main waking staff member on duty, working alongside a sleep-in carer, and will be responsible for the smooth and safe running of the home overnight.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the safety and well-being of all residents throughout the night
- Carrying out hourly night checks
- Administering medication in line with care plans and policies
- Responding to call bells and any incidents or emergencies
- Accurately recording care notes using PCS (electronic care system)
- Completing light cleaning and housekeeping duties
- Managing and responding calmly to any emergency situations that may arise
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a care setting
- Experience working Waking night shifts
- Confidence in working independently and taking responsibility overnight
- Medication administration experience and willingness to be trained
- Basic IT skills for recording care notes (PCS system)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- A calm, reliable, and proactive approach
