Office Manager – Construction

About the Role
We are looking for an organised, proactive and hands-on Office Manager to join our construction business in Leeds.
This is a key role within the business, supporting the wider office and site teams and making sure the day-to-day administration runs smoothly. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within the construction industry and be confident dealing with suppliers, subcontractors, site teams and internal staff.
You will be someone who enjoys keeping things organised, takes ownership of tasks and can manage multiple priorities in a busy construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day office administration and keeping the team organised.
- Raising and managing purchase orders, ensuring they are accurate and processed efficiently.
- Chasing suppliers and subcontractors for quotes, orders, deliveries, paperwork and outstanding information.
- Supporting site teams with administrative requirements and providing assistance where necessary.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring documentation is kept up to date.
- Managing document control, including filing, distributing and tracking important project and company documentation.
- Assisting with general administrative duties across the business.
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and internal teams in a professional and timely manner.
- Monitoring outstanding actions and following up to ensure deadlines are met.
- Helping to coordinate information between the office and construction sites.
- Maintaining a well-organised office and ensuring everyone has the information and documentation they need.
- Supporting the wider management team with ad-hoc administrative tasks and projects.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous office management or administration experience within the construction industry.
- Understands the fast-paced nature of construction and the importance of supporting site teams.
- Has experience with purchase orders, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Is confident chasing information and ensuring actions are followed through.
- Has experience with document control and maintaining accurate records.
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Can manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively.
- Is confident communicating with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Is proactive, reliable and able to work independently.
- Has a practical, can-do attitude and is happy to get involved wherever needed.
- Is confident using Microsoft Office and general business administration systems.
