You will be working in the infrastructure OU in where our team brings design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide - combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.
We are currently looking for a General Foreperson who will be responsible for leading the midweek night shifts on a Birmingham Station atrium roof repairs. The role includes overseeing delivery ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of sub-contracted works.
As the General Foreperson, you will:
- Supervise midweek night shift operations, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of repair works in line with the programme.
- Conduct site inductions, daily briefings, and toolbox talks for operatives and subcontractors, promoting a strong health and safety culture.
- Manage permits to work, access arrangements, and all night shift logistics to ensure works are completed in accordance with project requirements.
- Raise requisitions for materials, plant, and equipment, coordinating deliveries and transport requirements to maintain programme, carry out inspections.
- Coordinate and facilitate site visits, including client inspections, safety tours, and visits from regulatory inspectors.
- Maintain accurate daily site records, including progress reports, labour, plant, and the reporting of incidents, near misses, and safety observations.
We are looking for:
- Valid CSCS card (Supervisor level/Gold card)
- SSSTS/SMSTS card
- Proven experience in supervisory role within construction
- Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system).
- Training in Environmental management –Seats
- First Aider at work training
- Fire Marshal
