Business, Location: Primarily at PCML Sandy, 5 Gosforth Close, Sandy, Beds, SG19 1RB **You will also be required to provide occasional business need and holiday cover at our Cambridge site CB1 9AP**
Role: Distribution Coordinator
Reports to: Procurement Chain Manager
Primary Purpose: Responsible for the organisation and management of group despatch and stock control of raw materials and finished goods together with timely distribution to internal and external sites. Accurate receipt and storing of materials through goods-in process and kitting to works orders based on production plan and delivery dates, to improve operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
General
- Work closely alongside Production Planning and Production Managers to ensure delivery dates are met
- Liaise with Operation Team for the successful distribution of items to all sites
- Organise own workload within the department in line with schedules
- Responsibility for receipt and associated documentation of Consumable and Sundry items.
- Booking from 'dock' to 'stock' as directed by 'work-to-lists', within an agreed timeframe, (and highlighting corrective actions where timeframe is not met)
- Receipt, control and distribution of items and paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
- Confirming accuracy of documentation, (M Order / Material Batch Number)
- Prioritisation of work as directed by 'work-to-lists', (incorporating additional requests by Operations Management)
- Supporting the team generally to ensure all KPI's are met
- Identifying opportunities for improvement within the department
- Follow document control process
- Carrying out various hands-on operations across all skill sets to support team objectives
- Support the team in identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives within the department
- Completing accurate scheduled stock takes
Raw Material stores
- Responsibility for receipt and associated documentation in relation to booking in material
- Movement and storage of material within the required timeframe
- Cutting of material as defined in part-number routings
- Packing of issued material
- Safely and efficiently managing the loading and unloading of material
- Issue of Bar / Billet / Forging from Material allocation to subsequent operation, (covering internal and sub-contract operations)
- Ensuring the area(s) are organised whereby material is clearly identifiable/segregated, and workplace organisation and visual management can be clearly demonstrated
Finished Goods Stores
- Coordination and management of final logistics and delivery schedules out to customers
- Internal communication into CS team on delivery schedules for CS team updates to customers
- Ensure that customer delivery notes are signed and sent to accounts receivable daily
Tool Stores
- Coordination and management of tooling fixtures and ancillary production items between sites
Performance Measures
- Customer Satisfaction – On Time Delivery external customers
- Stock accuracy %
- Quality of material and finished goods to next operation/ end customer
- Delivery of material – 1 week before required on production plan
- Stores cost to run

Essential Skills:
- Previous Stores / Dispatch Coordination experience
- Organised and quick thinker

- Ability to use internal IT software and systems together with Microsoft Excel
