We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, ambitious and passionate member of staff to join our very effective and highly valued Student Support team.
Candidates should ideally have experience of working with young people, have excellent communication skills and a good level of education. The ability to build good relationships with students and their parents is essential. A high level of confidentiality will also apply to this role.
The role will involve working closely with the teaching Heads of Year who work to support students with their academic progress, their behaviour for learning, and their pastoral support and wellbeing. The role will also involve general support in the student Hub for all year groups, liaising with other staff, parents and sometimes external agencies along with administrative duties such as phone calls home, arranging and attending meetings with parents and taking meeting notes when necessary.
We are looking for someone who will be available for 34.17 hours over 5 days per week, term time only (39 weeks) (8:30am to 4:00pm with a 40-minute unpaid lunch break)
The successful candidate will:
- Care deeply and have high ambitions for every one of our students
- Be flexible and adaptable
- Ideally have some experience of working with young people in a school or other setting
- Be organised, efficient and competent with Microsoft Office packages and quick to learn new software (e.g. Arbor, our MIS system).
This post holder will join a team of five Heads of Year and one other Assistant Head of Year, along with our wider Student Support Team which includes the Welfare Team and Learning Support team. We have an excellent team of associate staff and teachers across the school and our students are a delight to work with.
Salary: WMAT scale WA4, £24,905 - £28,548 FTE (Actual £20,333 - £23,207)
