Job Overview
We are seeking a Fire Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a background in fire safety systems, with a focus on installation, servicing and fault finding. A background in commissioning would be desirable but not essential as training can be provided. This role requires a proactive individual who can work collaboratively within a team to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.

Responsibilities
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate existing fire safety measures and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other engineers and contractors to ensure seamless integration of fire systems into building designs.
- Perform testing and maintenance of fire protection equipment.
- Provide technical support and guidance during the installation process.
- Stay updated on industry standards (BS 5839) codes, and regulations related to fire safety, through attending training provided by Hopkins Young Electrical.
Experience
- Proven experience in with fire alarm installation, maintenance, and servicing.
- Strong knowledge with the ability to understand electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Wage from 45K-50K, plus overtime.
- Working in Essex, London, and the surrounding areas.
- Full UK driver's licence is a must.
Qualifications
- BS 5839 Unit 1: Fire Alarm Fundamentals: Essential knowledge of BS 5839-1.
- BS 5839 Unit 4: Installation Theory: Mastery of cable integrity and mounting standards.
- BS 5839 Unit 5: Maintenance & Servicing Theory: Proficiency in routine testing and fault-finding.
Works may take place in schools so an enhanced DBS check will be required, this will be provided for you.
