We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home specialising in senior care. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
- Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a team-oriented environment centred on excellent resident care
- Assist residents with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, dressing, and medication management
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and update care plans as required
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure holistic care delivery
- Organise and participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance service quality
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Support residents’ emotional wellbeing through companionship and engaging activities
Qualifications
- Prior experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care is essential
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to adapt approaches based on individual needs
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for supporting resident outings or errands
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in improving the quality of life for elderly residents
