The role: supporting the management of a large team ensuring the achievement of key performance indicators to optimise cash flow through maximising collection, closely collaborating with the Billing team to aid accurate, first-time billing practices and the reduction of debt risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and assist in the continued development of a high performing Credit Control team
- Responsible for driving cash collection and debtor days targets by managing the prompt collection of all debt
- Responsible for debtor related financial reporting month end processes and associated reporting, ensuring all processes align with company credit policies and SOX internal control frameworks
- Provide, where required support into billing related issues/disputes which impact debt recovery to include supporting legal resolutions to aid debt recovery
- Responsible for the review and development of operational credit control processes and policies to ensure they are accurately documented, fit for purpose and communicated accordingly
- Supporting the implementation of both short term and mid-term strategies and Projects through direct participation in project planning and delivery.
- Liaise with Care Homes and Regional Directors to ensure that queries and outstanding issues are resolved promptly
- Provide feedback and escalate issues where sales ledger or credit control procedures are not followed, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Act a key point of contact for Auditors
- Assist in the provision of training programmes for Home Managers and Home Administrators
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in leading and managing a credit control team
- In-depth knowledge and extensive experience across sales ledger, credit control, and billing processes
- Proven experience in recovering outstanding payments from local authorities and government bodies
- Strong understanding of litigation processes and the steps required to advance claims effectively
