Job Overview
We are recruiting a Refurbishment Triage Operative to work within our warehouse refurbishment and returns operation. This role focuses on furniture inspection, grading, quality control, and refurbishment triage, ensuring returned items are processed correctly for repair, refurbishment, resale, or disposal.
This is a hands-on warehouse-based role suitable for candidates with experience in furniture, quality inspection, refurbishment, or returns processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect returned furniture within a warehouse environment
- Carry out condition checks and grading on sofas, beds, and home furniture
- Decide if items require repair, refurbishment, parts salvage, or disposal
- Complete quality control checks in line with company standards
- Record inspection results using warehouse systems or paperwork
- Allocate items to the correct refurbishment or repair workflow
- Support technicians with clear fault and damage information
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised refurbishment triage area
- Follow all health and safety procedures
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Experience working in a warehouse, refurbishment, or production environment
- Strong attention to detail and decision-making skills
- Comfortable inspecting and handling furniture and large items
- Basic IT skills for recording inspections
- Good communication and teamwork
Desirable:
- Furniture refurbishment or upholstery experience
- Quality control, inspection, or grading roles
- Returns processing or reverse logistics experience
