We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced Anaesthetic Practitioner to join our Senior Team.
It is expected that you will also have oversight and responsibility for Recovery. You will deliver and support the team in both areas to provide safe , expert and evidence based Perioperative care.
The role requires an organised , focused individual who is able to balance Clinical and Management responsibilities.
We have an established Training Team and you will be supported by them and Senior Colleagues to learn and develop in this role.

Hospital of St Cross is a GIRFT Elective Surgical Hub . The unit consists of 6 Theatres and a Treatment Room. Surgical specialities include Ortho , Neuro , General, Ophthalmic , Plastics , Urology , Breast , Pain , Vascular. Within the Specialities a wide range of Surgery is carried out including Revision Joint Surgery, Complex soft tissue, Robotic Joint Replacements, Lap Choles . We embrace change and improvements and continue to evolve and expand on the type and complexity of Surgery across all the specialities that work at Rugby.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the Theatre Manager, Deputy Theatre Manager, Anaesthetic Teams, ODP's, Nurses, Surgeons, Anaesthetist and wider Multidisciplinary team to maintain high standards of patient safety, quality and service delivery.
The ability to manage and lead a Team across both specialities .
Leading and supporting the Team in a range of clinically complex and emergency situations in Anaesthetics and Recovery .
Act as an expert resource and clinical role model within Anaesthetics and Recovery.
Support a culture of psychological safety, openness and professional accountability.
Support implementation of national standards and guidelines.
Ensuring KPi' s are met and individuals in the Team are supported within their role . This includes sickness management , Health and well being , Appraisals and staff development , Safe staffing and skill mix , IPC Standards Mandatory and Clinical training . Conducting Quality and Safety Audits
Managing the Department as Unit Co Ordinator , problem solving and dealing with day to day issues as they arise .
Working in partnership with The Training Team to ensure Students and New Starters are fully supported.
Leading a Team of B6 Anaesthetic and Recovery Practitioners to ensure they support in providing a Safe , organised and efficient Anaesthetic and Recovery Service .
Working with the MDT to ensure good working relationships are maintained with optimally efficient and well utilised lists.

Support patients, carers and staff during difficult situations arising in the clinical area, e.g breaking bad news or following an unexpected event.
Promote and monitor adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policy designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from known hazards.
