ABOUT THE ROLE
Fastlane Autocare is looking for an experienced and qualified MOT Tester to join our busy workshop in St Helens.
We are offering a basic salary of £37,000–£40,000, depending on experience, plus performance bonuses – with the added benefit of no Saturday working.
Your primary responsibility will be carrying out MOT tests. When the MOT diary allows, you will also undertake general mechanical work including servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is confident working independently and wants a stable, long-term position within an established and growing independent garage.
THE ROLE
- Carry out MOT tests in accordance with current DVSA standards and procedures
- Complete MOT tests accurately, professionally and efficiently
- Maintain full compliance with DVSA testing requirements
- Accurately record MOT test results and documentation
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and general mechanical repairs between MOT tests
- Diagnose vehicle faults where required
- Identify additional work required during MOT tests and vehicle inspections
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Work alongside our technicians and service advisors to keep the workshop running efficiently
- Maintain a consistently high standard of workmanship
WORKING HOURS
Monday to Friday: 8:30am–5:00pm
No Saturdays (Overtime available)
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential:
- Current and valid MOT Tester status
- Experience carrying out MOT tests to DVSA standards
- Full UK driving licence
- Good general mechanical knowledge and experience
- Ability to carry out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable and professional approach to work
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Your current MOT RAG rating will be discussed as part of the interview process.
