Location: Orchard Manor View
Hours: 07.30-17.30 3 days on 3 days off on a rolling rota
Salary: £29,120.00
We are seeking a reliable and caring Cook to join our friendly residential care home. Working alongside a KA this is a rewarding role where you’ll help enhance residents’ quality of life by providing nutritious, well-balanced, home-cooked meals in a safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fresh, balanced meals in line with planned menus
- Cater for special dietary requirements, including medical, cultural, and personal needs
- Ensure all food is prepared and stored in line with HACCP, food hygiene, and health & safety regulations
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen at all times
- Manage food stock, ordering, and safe storage
- Work closely with care staff to support residents’ nutritional needs
About You
- Previous experience as a cook, ideally within a care home, healthcare, or similar setting
- A good working knowledge of HACCP and food safety procedures
- Knowledge of special diets (e.g. diabetic, soft, pureed) is desirable
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- A caring, patient, and dependable approach
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
