Quality Inspector

We are looking to recruit Quality Inspectors to join our National Distribution Centre based in the West Midlands (WS2 8DQ).
The Role
The Quality Inspector is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and customer satisfaction by ensuring products meet customer, regulatory and company requirements. The role supports both internal and external stakeholders through effective communication, robust inspection activities, risk-based decision making and proactive problem solving, ensuring product conformity, traceability and continuous improvement across the business.
Key tasks
· Interpret and apply customer specifications, engineering drawings, industry standards and inspection documentation when carrying out inspection and quality assurance activities
· Raise non-conformance reports (NCFs). Segregate and control non-conforming product. Support disposition activities
· Authority to enter, remove or scrap products in the quarantine area
· Review, generate and approve Certificates of Conformity (CoCs) within authorised signatory limits
· Perform incoming and outbound inspection of fasteners and associated products against drawings, specifications and sampling plans. Verify dimensional, visual and packaging requirements. Authority to pass/reject product
· Responsible to ensure all gauges are maintained and calibrated at the pre-determined intervals
· To assist key stakeholders (internal and external) with any quality concerns as and when required, resolving Quality issues in a timely manner
· To assist the Quality Management team with information to allow the completion of internal & external 8D corrective action investigations
· Process and investigate customer Return Material Authorisations (RMAs), ensuring returned product is correctly identified, quarantined, inspected and recorded, with appropriate corrective actions raised and tracked to completion
· Concessions to be raised and issued to the appropriate Key Account Co-ordinator to supply to the customer
· Responsible for quarantine rejections, to be monitored monthly
· Maintain a safe, organised and audit-ready inspection and quarantine area
· Ensure inspection activities comply with ISO 9001, customer requirements and internal procedures
· Complete monthly QA reports as required
· Ensure compliance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental, Health & Safety requirements and Continuous Improvement objectives
· Support internal, customer and third-party audits by providing quality records, inspection data and evidence of compliance
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have previous quality inspection experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or distribution environment, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. They will be proficient in using inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers, calipers, and gauges, and have a good understanding of NCF, quarantine, and corrective action processes. Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and effective verbal and written communication are essential, alongside good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and business systems. The ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities is also required.
