Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Responsibilities
- Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with legal requirements and company standards.
- Inspect vehicles for safety, emissions, and functionality, documenting findings accurately.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs or adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
- Communicate test results clearly to customers and provide recommendations for any necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to vehicle testing and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues effectively.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during inspections and repairs.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- A valid MOT Tester licence is essential for this position.
