Veneer Operative
Full Time – 41.5 Hour Basic Week
Salary – Competitive / Negotiable dependent upon experience
A leader within the UK construction market offering bespoke joinery solutions for Commercial, Residential and Specialist projects, we are looking for an innovative and passionate individual to join us as a veneer operative within the Veneer team based in our Bildeston factory.
This is a dynamic role is responsible for producing high quality veneering on products aligned to project drawings and timelines. This role involves working very closely with veneer team and manager and other key members of the production team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Cutting/Slicing and Stitching of Veneers to produce Lay-ons
- Reading drawings to be able to cut and match veneers when required.
- Maybe required to work Veneer Sanders/Veneer Press, but primary role with be producing Veneer Lay-ons.
- Using understanding of the Veneer Trade, so if required, to view/purchase veneer material for Projects.
- The veneering of any products as per the drawings
- Working to the high level of quality expected within the Department.
- Working closely with the Veneer manager and keeping him informed of any issues
Necessary Skills and Competencies:
- Attention to detail
- Good time management and time keeping
- Ability to prioritize workload and deal with busy deadlines
- Work under pressure
- Aptitude to learn and develop into this role
Desirable Skills and Competencies:
- Previous experience and knowledge of woodwork
- Veneer work experience
- Good knowledge of cutting in patches and repair work of Veneer faces.
- Good knowledge of woods would aid in your training but not essential.
