THE ROLE
Provide a warm welcome alongside quick and courteous customer service. Make a great first impression, focusing on customers. Be adaptable and able to support in the café/bar when needed. Help maintain a clean working environment & see a busy day as a fun chance to demonstrate good teamwork under pressure! Due to the nature of the role, the working pattern will encompass weekends and evenings.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The exciting stuff
- Create a positive first impression by providing a friendly, courteous and professional welcome to all customers and visitors.
- Manage the café and customer flow, ensuring the café and reception areas operate efficiently during the shift, particularly in the manager’s absence.
- Prepare and serve food and drinks safely, efficiently and consistently, following the required recipes, portion sizes and service standards.
- Take customer orders accurately, process payments correctly and provide customers with relevant information about menu items, products and current offers.
- Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the café menu, including ingredients, allergens, dietary requirements and available alternatives.
- Respond to customer enquiries and make an appropriate first attempt to resolve complaints before escalating them where necessary.
- Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the café by responding positively to changing demands and assisting colleagues during busy periods.
- Complete the café’s opening and closing duties as required, following all relevant operational, safety and security procedures.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming café environment, including the kitchen, service counters, customer seating areas, tables and toilets.
- Clear and clean tables promptly and ensure customer areas remain presentable throughout the shift.
- Ensure food, drinks, fridges, shelves and point-of-sale displays are well stocked and replenished as required.
- Check deliveries and store products correctly, following stock-rotation, date-labelling and food-storage procedures.
- Support the team in monitoring stock levels and report any shortages, damaged products or faulty equipment promptly and raise any concerns with the café supervisor.
- Complete all required food-safety, temperature, cleaning and wastage records accurately and on time.
- Minimise waste by following appropriate portion-control, storage and stock-rotation procedures.
- Foster positive working relationships and contribute to a friendly, supportive and professional working environment.
- Support reception and other areas of the centre during busy periods where required and appropriately trained.
- Be present and engaged with customers, colleagues and the wider centre throughout the shift.
- Use initiative to identify and complete appropriate tasks during quieter periods.

- Attend meetings and training initiatives as required.
- To undertake any other duties as reasonably required within your competency.
- To adhere to all policies and procedures.
- To undertake any training and development activities at the request of your line manager, as required.
- To always take care of your own safety and the safety of others by always complying with the H&S Policy.

- Report any customer, operational, welfare or safety concerns to the Café Supervisor or Front of House Manager.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of and comply with all relevant fire-safety, food-hygiene, allergen, health and safety policies and operational procedures.

In addition to offering all the fun of the Park, we also operate the largest mobile climbing wall hire business in the UK. With our fleet of walls and a mobile caving system too, we bring the excitement of adventure activities to public and private venues and events all over the country.

Pay: £12.73-£13.10 per hour
