Part-Time Class 2 HIAB Driver – Building Materials
Location: Barton-upon-Humber
Hours: 2–3 days per week
Job Type: Part-time
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Class 2 HGV Driver to join our team on a part-time basis, working 2–3 days per week, delivering building materials to customers and building sites.
A Class 2 (Category C) licence and previous Class 2 driving experience are essential. HIAB experience is preferred but not essential, as we are happy to provide HIAB training for the right candidate.
The Role
The role will involve the safe and efficient delivery of a range of building materials to customers, construction sites and other locations.
Duties will include:
- Driving a Class 2 vehicle safely and responsibly
- Delivering building materials to customers and building sites
- Loading and unloading materials safely
- Operating the HIAB crane once trained
- Carrying out daily vehicle and safety checks
- Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on time
- Securing loads correctly and safely
- Dealing professionally with customers and site personnel
- Completing delivery paperwork where required
- Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle
- Following all relevant transport, driving and health & safety regulations
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence – essential
- Have previous professional Class 2 driving experience – essential
- Be reliable, punctual and responsible
- Have a good attitude and professional approach
- Be comfortable delivering to building sites and working around construction environments
- Have good communication and customer service skills
- Be able to work independently and use initiative
- Have HIAB experience – desirable but not essential, as training will be provided
