West Berkshire Council is seeking an Interim Transport & Parking Services Manager to lead the transport and parking services team within the Environment Service for a fixed-term period, with secondment opportunities considered. Reporting to the Interim Service Lead Highways and Transport Innovation, you will play a crucial role in the management and delivery of transport and parking services, ensuring the highest standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
About the Role
As the Interim Transport & Parking Services Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

Managing and leading a team of transport and parking professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure effective service delivery.
- Overseeing the operation of the school transport service, including the management of transport arrangements.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, including parking enforcement and transport policy.
- Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement improvements to transport and parking services.
- Monitoring and reporting on service performance, providing regular updates to senior management and elected members.
Fixed term until 31/12/2026 (Interim support (short term organisational change)

About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

Extensive experience working within a transport environment, ideally within a local authority setting.
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of transport legislation, policies and best practices.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight deadlines.
