Could you be our Lydia Bennet? Edward Ferrars? Or Caroline Bingley? The Jane Austen Centre in Bath is seeking Regency Actors to play roles of famous characters to groups of visitors.
Desired criteria and skills:
- Acting experience in front of live audiences including small to medium sized groups
- Providing entertaining and engaging presentations and monologues
- Being able to step into character the moment you are in front of the general public, and staying in character throughout your working day
- Being able to provide exemplary customer service and answer any questions you might be asked in a professional and appropriate manner
- Actively engaging with visitors using props and touch points in the attraction
- Flexibility with working weekends and weekdays
- Being an infectiously positive and an integral part of a larger team of actors, ushers, tour guides, Tea Room, retail staff and management
This role is a temporary contract, part time. Shortlisted candidates will be sent a brief script and asked to audition as part of the interview process. Currently we are seeking someone to fulfill one acting shift each week, although there may be potential to do more during school holidays.
