Overview
A busy young family in South Kensington, London is seeking a proactive, discreet Nanny to care for their young son (born November 2025). The parent works from home and is very involved day-to-day, so they are looking for a genuine team player who can collaborate seamlessly while also being confident taking sole charge when needed.

Core responsibilities
Childcare & development
- Manage the child’s day-to-day routine (feeding, sleep, hygiene) and support age-appropriate structure.
- Support developmental milestones with engaging, hands-on activities (sensory play, cooking sessions, educational outings, playdates, etc.).
- Encourage a calm, confident and nurturing environment, aligning with the family’s approach.
Child-related housekeeping
- Keep the child’s play areas and bedroom tidy and organised.
- Manage the child’s laundry.
- Keep nursery supplies well-stocked and ensure everything is ready for the next day.
Travel support
- Pack and unpack for all travel and manage all child-related logistics.
- Occasional UK and international travel. When travelling with the family, the Nanny will work 5 days per week.
- The family spends 6 - 8 weeks each summer at their home in Italy. During this period, the parents will be working, so the nanny will be required to travel with the family for approximately 4 - 5 weeks. The remaining time will be taken as annual leave.
Team support
- Work collaboratively with the other Nanny and the parent.
- As part of being a team player, provide occasional light household support around the child (e.g., loading/unloading the dishwasher, helping with occasional returns), while keeping childcare as the priority.
Ideal candidate
- Intuitive & discreet: able to “read the room” and know when to step in or step back.
- Proactive: consistently ahead of tasks, anticipating needs before they arise.
- Language: Italian speaker would be a bonus (not essential) to support the family’s international ties.
- Skills: confident swimmer; confident driver, comfortable in both the UK and Europe.
- Lifestyle fit: ideally someone who enjoys being outside of London as well as in the city (e.g., country/coastal life) — not purely a “city person”.
- Professionalism: high initiative and commitment to a long-term placement.
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK.
- Visa-free passport for European travel.
- Open to working in warm climates (the family have air conditioning at home, but comfort with heat / summer travel is helpful).
- Bonus: ties to Italy (e.g., Sardinia) / familiarity with the region is a plus.
Pay: Up to £55,000.00 per year
