About Kane Engineering:
Kane Engineering specialises in the design, manufacture, and assembly of low-voltage electrical switchboards and control panels. Our products are supplied to the construction industry across both local and international markets.
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Production Operative / Panel Assembly Technician to join our production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing experience who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in producing high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
As part of our production team, your duties will include:
· Assembly of modular steelwork.
· Fitting components to mounting plates and assemblies.
· Fabrication of steel, aluminium, and plastic components.
· Assembly and installation of configured copper busbar systems.
· Drilling and fitting plastic shrouding and engraved labels.
· Preparing completed panels for factory acceptance testing.
· Cladding, wrapping, and preparing finished products for dispatch.
· Stores duties and materials handling.
· Supporting other production activities as required.
Essential Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
· A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
· The ability to work accurately and efficiently while following supervisor instructions.
· Strong teamwork skills and the ability to meet production deadlines.
· Competence in basic engineering and fabrication activities, including:
o Accurate measuring and setting out.
o Drilling and tapping steel mounting plates.
o Safe operation of workshop equipment such as pillar drills, grinders, jigsaws, and other power tools.

Desirable Experience:
· Previous experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
· GCSE (or equivalent) preferred.
· Minimum of 2 years’ manufacturing experience.
· Must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
