Horticulture Office Administrator/Manager

We are a long-established family business, based just outside Knutsford in Cheshire, growing specialist garden plants which, we deliver to prestigious garden centres and specialist plant nurseries across the UK.
We take great pride in our work and have a vacancy for an enthusiastic person to join our loyal, friendly team of approximately 8 people.
We’re seeking an office administrator/office manager to manage and carry out a variety of customer service and office-based tasks, which includes liaison with our nursery team members and warehouse team.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator, have an interest in gardening/horticulture, have a strong attention to detail, be extremely organised and have strong communication skills to liaise with both staff members and customers.
Main Duties to include:
- Liaising with customers to take new orders
- Documenting new orders and sharing them with the team to prepare
- Liaising with the nursery and warehouse teams to fulfil customer orders
- Assisting with getting plant orders ready for customers from time to time, which includes weeding, pruning, cleaning and labelling
- Invoice creation using Quickbooks
- Filing invoices and statements to maintain bookkeeping records
- Booking accommodation
- Maintaining a schedule of key dates for service renewals and filings
- Research and renewing utility and other contracts
Requirements
- Has carried out previous administration roles
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Analytical and numerical
- Attention to detail
- An excellent communicator (verbal & written)
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Excel and experience of bookkeeping software)
- Proactive & flexible approach
- due to location, you will need your own transport
As a small family run business, previous experience working in a small business is preferred.
Note: due to the nature of the role and our business, this is an office based job which requires you to be on-site each day.
Hours
8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, with 45 minutes lunch break
(We can consider slightly less daily hours for the right candidate however this is a full-time role and the hours will be fixed each week)

Salary: From £26,000-£28,000 based on experience
Start: 28th September onwards
