Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and reliable Coal Lorry Delivery Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting coal loads to various delivery points, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. Responsibilities
- Operate Class 2 coal lorries with precision and safety, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
- Load, secure, and deliver coal cargo efficiently to designated locations, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols are followed
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns before departure
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues that arise during transit
- Follow all safety procedures related to handling heavy loads and operating commercial vehicles
- Assist with unloading cargo at delivery sites and shops when necessary, ensuring proper placement and safety compliance
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, particularly with commercial vehicles
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record and familiarity with local roads and routes, HGV class 2 licence & CPC qualification
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and cargo handling
- Ability to operate a moffit mounty & forklift is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating deliveries and interacting professionally with clients
- Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
- Familiarity with delivery driver experience requirements in logistics operations
