Job Title: Finishing Operative (Wallpaper)

Easily accessible from the motorway network, we are looking for someone to join our finishing team in a fast-paced factory environment.
Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Wallpaper Winder and Packer to join our manufacturing team. You will be responsible for the final stage of our manufacturing process, ensuring our high-quality wallpaper products are securely wound and wrapped, accurately labelled, and ready for dispatch to customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Set up and operate winding machines to prepare products for dispatch, ensuring consistent quality and tension.
- Quality & Inventory Control: Visually inspecting wallpaper for any printing defects or damage before packing. Check all jobs against job cards to verify accuracy; proactively report any jobs that are over or under the order quantity to management.
- Product Finishing: Carefully wrap and pack all wallpaper products according to customer specifications and company quality standards. Making up the correct sized boxes for each customer and accurately applying product labels to rolls before seal wrapped.
- Palletising: Stacking packed items onto pallets safely and neatly for collection.
- Departmental Flexibility: Maintain a multi-functional presence within the finishing department, providing essential support and assisting in all finishing processes as required by workflow demands.
Candidate Requirements:
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot defects. Precision is vital to ensure wallpaper rolls are handled carefully and labels are correct.
- Reliability: Punctuality and a strong work ethic are essential for meeting daily packing targets.
- Physical Fitness: Comfortable with manual handling tasks, including moving reels and loading on to winding machines, wrapping and moving of product rolls. Ability to handle repetitive tasks and stand for the duration of a shift. ·
- Adaptability: Willingness to move between different tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a fast-paced production line.
- Experience: Previous experience in a winding and packing environment is preferred but not always essential.
