The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal communication skills, a friendly and approachable manner, and the ability to adapt well to a busy working environment.
As a Dispensing Assistant, you will be involved in preparing weekly Dosette Boxes, assembling and dispensing prescriptions, and providing a friendly and professional service to our patients.
Other responsibilities include:
- Assembling and dispensing prescriptions
- Handing out prescriptions to patients and providing relevant clinical advice
- Managing and ordering dispensary stock
- Answering calls and liaising with other healthcare professionals regarding patient queries
- Operating the till and advising patients on over-the-counter products
- Occasional delivery of medication to patients
Candidates should have at least some experience in a community pharmacy. Ideally, you will have a relevant Dispensing Assistant qualification or a Medicine Counter Assistant certificate (NPA or another recognised course).
Training and development: If you don't currently have a Dispensing Assistant qualification but are the right fit for the role, we are happy to support your development. Following a successful probation period, we would be pleased to consider putting you through a recognised Dispensing Assistant course, where applicable.
