We are now looking for a knowledgeable Technical Customer Support Advisor to help installers, contractors, and end-users get the best from our products.
Role Overview
In this role, you will provide front-line technical support to customers using our fans, ventilation units, controls, and associated digital tools. You’ll assist with wiring information, installation guidance, system troubleshooting, and phone-based app support. This position is ideal for someone with a practical, hands-on mindset and the ability to translate technical details into clear instructions. This role is primarily in-house at Desk & Workshop, you may occasionally be required to go to site
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and live chat
- Guide installers and end-users through wiring diagrams, control setups, and configuration tasks
- Deliver phone-based app support, including connectivity troubleshooting and user guidance
- Assist customers with product setup, commissioning, and operational best practices
- Diagnose ventilation system issues and escalate complex cases to engineering teams
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of customer interactions
- Contribute to support documentation, wiring guides, FAQs, and training materials
- Identify recurring issues or customer feedback and relay insights for product development
- Visit customer sites to assist with fault finding, warranty repair and provide set-up and mobile / wifi based connectivity support
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Experience in a technical support, field service, or ventilation/HVAC-related role
- Good understanding of electrical wiring basics and the ability to interpret basic wiring diagrams
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly
- Confident communicator with excellent phone and written communication skills
- Comfortable supporting mobile apps, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connectivity, and basic network queries
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Desirable / Optional:
- Familiarity with single-room ventilation, MVHR, extract systems, or air quality products
- Experience supporting installers, contractors, or facilities teams
- Experience using CRM/helpdesk platforms (e.g., Zendesk, Salesforce)
- Electrical or HVAC qualifications
