Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. Experience of operating a laser cutting machine will be an advantage. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machinery to produce precise sheet metal components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with a background in fabrication and mechanical processes to contribute to high-quality production in a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Set up and calibrate press brake machines according to specifications and drawings
- Operate press brake equipment to bend and form sheet metal with accuracy and efficiency
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to minimise downtime
- Read technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine bending angles and dimensions
- Utilise hand tools, tooling, and measuring devices such as calipers and gauges for precise work
- Assist with fabrication tasks including grinding, welding, and assembly as required
- Maintain a clean and organised work area adhering to safety protocols at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience operating press brake machinery in a manufacturing or fabrication setting
- Laser cutting experience preferred
- Knowledge of sheet metal properties and fabrication techniques
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to adjust tooling and machine settings accurately
- Familiarity with hand tools, tooling, and basic measurement instruments
- Basic maths skills for calculating dimensions, angles, and tolerances
- Experience with grinding, welding, or assembly is advantageous but not essential
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control
- Ability to follow technical drawings and instructions precisely
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently within deadlines
- Experience with Trumpf machinery is an advantage but not essential
Working hours 7:00-16:00 Mon-Thur. 7:00-13:00 Fri. Overtime will be available when needed.
Minimum 31 days annual leave including statutory holidays.
Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour
