Hours of Work: Monday-Thursday- 9.00am-5.30pm and Friday 9.00am – 4.00pm.

This role represents a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and busy accounts department to support and grow the business via the finance department. The successful candidate will support the Head of Finance in meeting financial reporting requirements, providing operational finance support to the depot network and play an important role in driving improvements within the internal control environment of the business. This role will provide the successful candidate the environment, skills and mentorship to gain the necessary financial reporting, commercial and operational experience that will enable future career progression.
The successful candidate will be someone who is keen to learn, grow and develop with the business and will be provided the necessary support and mentorship to be successful within the business.
Candidates should be Part Qualified Accountant (IATI/ACA (CAP1/2/FAE)/CIMA/ACCA)
Key Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Providing business finance operational support across our depot network in relation to the improvement of depot internal controls, support with the improvement of stock processes and ensuring consistency of processes across our depot network. This element of the role will require the successful candidate to visit each of our 6 depot network once per month.
- Support with the continual improvement of our internal control’s environment, actioning any improvement actions identified from group internal audit visits.
- Supporting with group internal and external audits. Act as key point of contact for our audit partners for query resolution, to ensure all group compliance and statutory reporting requirements are achieved.
- Supporting the Head of Finance to meet weekly and monthly financial reporting objectives. This includes Income Statement & Balance Sheet reporting, analytical review, journal postings and the reconciliation of all balances.
- Support for the successful completion of finance projects
- Involvement in a wide range of ad hoc tasks across various departments to ensure success for the finance department to meet its objectives.
Essential Criteria:
- Degree holder
- Part Qualified within a Professional Accountancy Qualification (CAP 1/2 & FAE, ACCA, CIMA)
- 2+ Years Finance Experience
- Experience of Weekly Reporting & Finance Special Project assignments
- Strong financial reporting, audit and accounts prep background
- Experience working to tight month end reporting timeframes
- IT Literate with experience with Microsoft and Sage Line 50 (Desirable, not essential)
