If you enjoy working as part of a site team, take pride in maintaining high standards, and want to help deliver quality homes safely and efficiently, we'd like to hear from you.
This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with the Site Manager to keep projects on track, ensure work is completed to the required standard, and support the day-to-day running of busy construction sites.
What you'll do
- Support the Site Manager with the safe and successful delivery of construction projects.
- Help coordinate site activities, subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour.
- Monitor progress against project programmes and assist with short-term planning.
- Carry out site inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets required standards.
- Produce snagging lists and support the sign-off process for completed works.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across the site.
- Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and routine safety inspections with site staff and subcontractors.
- Assist with organising materials, plant, equipment and site facilities.
- Record labour levels, progress updates and site information accurately.
- Attend and support progress meetings with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Work with commercial, procurement and technical teams to support project delivery.
- Step in to oversee site operations when required in the absence of the Site Manager.
- Support sustainability and waste management initiatives on site.
What we're looking for
- Experience in an Assistant Site Manager role or a similar construction supervisory position.
- Knowledge of housebuilding, social housing, or general construction projects.
- Understanding of construction health and safety requirements and site management practices.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- SVQ, SMSTS, CSCS Card and First Aid qualifications are desirable, although training can be provided where required.
- Trade background or construction-related qualification would be advantageous.
