Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Experienced Supported Worker to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support to adult with Learning Disability, ensuring their wellbeing, development, and integration into the community. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, experience working in a supported living , and the ability to develop and implement personalised care plans. Key Responsibilities
- Provide person‑centred support to adults with learning disability in a supported living environment
- Support individuals to develop daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning, shopping, and maintaining a safe home
- Promote independence, confidence, and recovery‑focused outcomes
- Offer emotional support, reassurance, and guidance to help individuals manage their mental health
- Assist individuals to access community activities, education, volunteering, and social opportunities
- Support with medication prompts, monitoring, and accurate recording in line with service policies
- Recognise early signs of mental health deterioration and escalate concerns appropriately
- Contribute to risk assessments and follow risk management plans to maintain safety
- Safeguard individuals from abuse, neglect, or exploitation and report concerns promptly
- Maintain accurate daily records, incident reports, and communication logs
- Work collaboratively with external professionals, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Encourage healthy lifestyle choices, including nutrition, physical activity, and wellbeing
- Support individuals with budgeting, financial planning, and managing appointments
- Uphold professional boundaries, confidentiality, and organisational values at all times
- Participate in training, supervision, and team meetings to support continuous development
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities, and complex needs
- Understanding of recovery‑focused, person‑centred support
- Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
- Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and safely
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic IT skills for completing records, reports, and digital care notes
- Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep‑ins
- Right to work in the UK
Qualifications & Training (Essential or Willing to Work Towards)
- Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or willingness to complete)
- Training in mental health awareness, safeguarding, and basic life support
- Medication training (or willingness to undertake)
- Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or de‑escalation training is an advantage

Additional Desirable Requirements
