Experienced Daycare & Kennel Assistant
This is a new role at Tiverton Dog Centre due to Maternity. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and reliable Daycare & Kennel Assistant to join our team at Tiverton Dog Centre.
This is a split role between our busy daycare and kennels:
- Monday, Thursday & Friday: Dog Daycare
- Saturday & Sunday: Kennels
- Hours: To be discussed
Requirements
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
- Previous professional experience working with dogs is essential. Please note that owning your own dog or walking friends’ dogs does not count as professional experience for this role.
Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Supervising and caring for dogs in both our daycare and kennel environments.
- Safely managing large groups of dogs while maintaining excellent welfare standards.
- Driving dogs safely between our two sites.
- Cleaning and maintaining all dog areas to a high standard, including kennel cleaning.
- General site maintenance, including pressure washing and grass cutting.
- Taking photos and videos of the dogs throughout the day to keep owners updated.
- Working both independently and as part of our team.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Is confident handling dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments.
- Can remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment.
- Has excellent observation skills and prioritises canine welfare.
- Is happy carrying out both hands-on dog care and cleaning/maintenance duties.
- Is reliable, hardworking and takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards.
- Is confident working alone when required, as well as contributing positively within a team.
This is a permanent, employed role.
