The Role
Here at Fortem Solutions we’re currently recruiting for a Multi Trade to join our Cambridge Housing Society contract on a full time, permanent basis. This role would be working in our Repairs & Maintenance team, working closely with local tenants to fix issues in their houses. We have a team of Planners in our head office who take calls from tenants and then plan your day out, making sure the houses you attend are in your patch and you have all the information you need before you get there. We’re looking for a Multi Trade, so although we’d expect your primary skill to be in either Carpentry or Plumbing, we would also need you to have basic skills in either Plastering, Tiling, Groundwork, Painting & Decorating or Electrics and be able to undertake jobs without supervision. This would primarily be solo work, however you will be given a company van and fuel card and you’ll have Supervisors on hand should you need any help

Our contract with Cambridge Housing Society launched on April 1st, 2025 and has been steadily building since then. This is a long term partnership with houses covering the whole of Cambridgeshire, from Wisbech down to Haverhill, although primarily situated in central Cambridge. There are nearly 3,000 properties, mostly houses and flats, and we look after their Repairs, Voids, Cyclical Works and Planned workstreams.

What You Will Need
Essential: • Core Trade being Carpentry, but have at least basic skills in multiple other Trades • Must be able to work solo, without supervision • Must be able to use a tablet to receive jobs and create notes • Full UK driving licence • Right to work in the UK Desirable criteria: • Experience working within Social Housing
