Recruitment Pro are delighted to be working in partnership with a market-leading specialist transport packaging company to recruit a Shift FLT Driver for their Rotherham operation.
The Role
As a Shift FLT Driver, you will work as part of the production team, carrying out a variety of duties under the direction of the Shift Team Leader. Although you will regularly use the forklift truck, this will generally be for short periods, with the majority of your time spent supporting the wider production operation.
The position operates on a rotating two-shift pattern of mornings and afternoons, according to the company's shift rota.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a counterbalance forklift truck safely and efficiently when required.
- Carry out a range of production duties as instructed by the Shift Team Leader.
- Complete production tasks to the required standards and timescales.
- Carry out specialist cleaning and machine clean-down duties.
- Complete all required paperwork and production documentation accurately.
- Maintain high levels of productivity and ensure continuity throughout the shift.
- Follow company procedures, health and safety requirements and HACCP standards.
- Work effectively with colleagues to maintain a positive and productive team environment.
- Support the smooth running of a continuous and demanding production process.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a production, manufacturing or shop-floor environment.
- A valid Counterbalance FLT Licence.
- Good knowledge and understanding of workplace procedures.
- An understanding of HACCP requirements and food/production safety standards.
- A strong commitment to health and safety.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A reliable, hardworking and motivated approach.
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Pay & Shift Allowance
- Basic rate: £12.71 per hour
- Morning shift premium: £40.40 per full week
- Afternoon shift premium: £80.80 per full week
- The full shift allowance is payable provided the complete working week is worked.
Shifts will be 6am until 2pm and 2pm until 10pm but you will need to be on site 15 minutes before shift for shift brief. 45 minutes of your 1 hour breaks are paid.
