Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and residents’ specific needs
- Plan menus that balance taste, nutrition, and variety to enhance residents’ dining experience
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times
- Serve meals with professionalism and friendliness, ensuring timely delivery to residents
- Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures
- Collaborate with care staff to accommodate special dietary requirements or restrictions
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably within a care home or healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous kitchen or culinary experience in a restaurant or similar environment is highly desirable
- Ability to plan, prepare, and serve meals efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for managing kitchen operations
- Good communication skills to work effectively with staff and residents
- Flexibility to adapt menus based on residents’ evolving dietary needs or preferences
Pay: £14.00 per hour
